Antique Large Brass & Iron Fireplace Tool Set (Shovel, Poker, Tongs) Marble Base. This antique fireplace tool set features a stand with a sturdy marble base and brass and iron tools, including tongs, a poker, and a shovel. The set is an original antique, and the maker is unknown. The fireplace set stands approximately 34.5 inches tall and weighs around 18 pounds. The marble base is approximately 8.5" x 8.5".

The tongs are about 32.75" long and about 4" wide at the widest part. The shovel is about 31 long. The blade of the shovel is about 5.25" wide at its widest part and 4.25" at its narrowest part. The blade is about 7 tall.

The blade has some corrosion on it. The poker is about 29.5 tall. The curved part at the bottom of the poker is about 4 long. I also have antique brass and cast-iron andirons and antique cast iron fireplace tongs listed. I have not polished the brass, because some people like brass polished, and other people like brass unpolished.

There is some corrosion on both the brass and the iron. The ends of the tongs do not meet quite properly. I think the ends could be hammered to make them meet properly, but I didn't attempt it. The fireplace set is from my mom's house, and she used to smoke more than 19 years ago. I will be listing other vintage and antique.
