All of the pieces screw together with nuts and bolts, so they can be loosened or tightened as needed. The tongs are slightly uneven, but were still perfectly functional. You do have to grab each side of the tongs to grab the log this is not a scissor type tong.

There are several spots to hang the tools, so you can hang them in the way that is most convenient for you. The item all by itself is just under 10 pounds, and with packing will be close to 12 pounds. There are clear signs of use, including scuffs and burn marks on items used in fire This can be seen in the photos. There are signs of tarnish/patina, again this can be seen in the photos.
