Vtg Harvin Brass Virginia Metalcrafters Solid Brass Colonial Fireplace Tools Set. Very nice set of 18th century Colonial Williamsburg period style set of solid brass fireplace tools Made by Harvin Brass. This company made all the reproduction cast brass for Colonial Williamsburg and other historical sites. All pieces were sand cast and then highly polished. Harvin Brass was bought out by Virginia Metalcrafters in the 1950's so this set dates from that time period or older.

Stamped on the bottom 1800A Harvin. This is a very heavy set weighing almost 24 lbs. Base measures 10 1/8" x 7" and the set is 31 1/2 high. I bought these from an estate sale years ago and personally never used them. From the looks of the set, they had seen very light usage from the previous owner.

Set is in very good condition with some slight scratches as are typical from age and use these do not detract from the beauty of the set. The horsehair brush is also in very good condition bristles are intact and not bent. The tools and stand are highly polished and have a nice vintage period look. I have included a solid brass damper pull marked with the Virginia Metalcrafters symbol that is not an exact match but works well with the set. There is 1 small dent in the poker handle as I have shown in the pics which shows up more in the close-up photo than in person.

These handles are interchangeable so this could be switched with the one on the stand so this will face the back wall and not be seen. If you are familiar with Harvin Brass or Virginia Metalcrafters products, you know the quality of the set and the heaviness of the brass.

This set will weigh around 30 lbs. I make every effort to describe things as accurately as possible. Please keep in mind that many are vintage and used. I look things over and describe any flaws I see. Please use the photos as part of the description.
