It is early 19th Century in date (Late Georgian / Regency) and stands on 3 cast brass Lions Paw Feet. It is made of heavy brass sheet with a rolled top edge and has pierced fretwork decoration.

The riveted iron base plate retains the sockets which hold the Fire Iron supports which hold the original set matching fireplace tools, (which are rare to find together as set still). The metal'stops' to retain the fire irons in position. Please note the exquisitely fine and detailed hand pierced craftsmanship. A true rarity among fireplace fenders.
